FAQ

  • What is a newborn care specialist?

A newborn care specialist is a trained professional who provides expert guidance and support to parents during the first few weeks or months after childbirth. They assist with newborn care routines, including feeding, establishing healthy sleep habits, diapering, and soothing techniques. Their role is to ensure the baby’s well-being while also offering parents much-needed rest and advice on how to navigate this crucial stage of early parenthood.

  • What are your rates and payment terms?

My rates and services can be found here. For overnight care, the last week’s payment is due as a deposit upon signing the initial client agreement. I do not accept insurance at this time.

  • What hours are you available, and do you offer daytime care?

I do not offer daytime newborn care at this time. I am available during the day for consultations, parent education, and lactation support. My night availability ranges from 8pm to 8am.

  • How do you approach sleep training and feeding with a newborn?

I believe newborns are too young to be sleep trained. Newborns should be fed on demand, or sooner if advised by their pediatrician. I assist in establishing healthy sleep routines and habits, helping both the baby and parents develop a more restful and consistent sleep pattern as the baby grows.

  • How long do you typically work with a family?

I typically work with overnight clients for 8 to 12 weeks. However, I can be flexible based on my availability.

  • Can you help with light household tasks?

I am more than happy to assist in all baby-related tasks such as nursery organization, baby laundry, bottle and pump part sterilization, and emptying the never-ending diaper pail!
